Indian shares may slip further

Afp, Mumbai

Indian shares could slip further next week, weighed down by concerns of bad news from the US financial market and uncertainty over the future of Lehman Brothers, dealers said. The market has slipped despite positive factors like better-than-expected industrial output data, a slowdown in inflation and lower oil prices. For the week to September 12, the benchmark 30-share Sensex index fell 3.33 percent or 483.02 points, to 14,000.81.Dealers said the market could weaken further if Lehman Brothers does not find a partner to give it a capital injection.Buying in Indian shares is likely to remain sector-selective.
